If you are above 60 of your age and having blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes problem then you are on the target for heart disease. No doubt a person can have heart problems at any stage of life. There are some warning signs of a heart attack but someone can face cardiac problems without any symptoms also.
- Pain or Discomfort in the chest.
- Light-headedness, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, or stomach pain.
- Backache, Neck or Jaw pain, continuous cough.
- Getting exhausted, pain in the arm, Shortness of breath, sweating, irregular heartbeats, and Snoring.
All the above symptoms are leading to an alarming situation of severe heart disease. There are a few types of arteries problems in which heart arteries didn’t supply nutrients and oxygen to the body by circulating the system of blood. If you find out the arteries problems, then usually problems are:
- Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a very common heart disease in which the heart can’t pump properly due to weakness of the heart muscles. This weakness results in the dilated chamber of the heart. Usually, DCM affects the left ventricles.
- Myocardial infarction (MI) is commonly known as a heart attack. This usually occurs due to blood clots in the arteries which lead to interruption of blood flow to coronary arteries.
- Heart Failure is when heart muscles couldn’t pump the blood properly to the body which is required to maintain the body active.
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a very common inherited heart problem. In this disease, the wall of the left ventricles becomes very hard and thick which pumping out the blood of the heard become difficult. This is leading to sudden death in athletes.
- Mitral Regurgitation (MR) has the same symptoms as acute heart failure. MR is the condition in which the mitral valve didn’t close properly and tightly when the heart pumps out blood. This allows blood to reverse back to the heart when it should release to the body.
- Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) is when the valve between the left atrium and left ventricles doesn’t fully close. It is the primary form of “Myxomatous Degeneration” of the valve. Usually, Mitral Valve Prolapse is not a very serious problem and not life-threatening. The patient requires only medical management.
- In Pulmonary Valve Stenosis (PVS), the heart can’t pump blood into the pulmonary artery due to deformation on or close to your aspiratory valve which limits the aspiratory valve opening and reduces blood circulation.
TREATMENTS- There are two ways of treatment available for all major heart diseases:
- By medication- There is a bundle of the best medication available for the majority of heart diseases in India.
- By surgeries-Heart surgery is an intensive option to provide the cure for a patient when the heart problems are too severe to cure with medication or another way of treatment but surgeries take a longer time to recover. The most common surgeries include:
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) if the patients are suffering from discomfort in their chest, or severe heart blockages then doctors insert a balloon catheter into narrowed blood vessels and open it to start blood flow without any restriction.
- Coronary Arteries Bypass Grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure to improve poor blood circulation to the heart. It might be required when the coronary arteries providing blood to the heart are blocked or limited functionality.
- Surgery to repair or replace heart valves either mechanic or biological.
- Pacemaker or an electronic machine to regulate heartbeats in the case of arrhythmia problems.
